Creature ID

Could anyone help me identify the life in this photo? DD wheat with 1 inch Dutch into pea stubble. First year true DD however last year only had the top inch scratched.

As long as not a problem! There must have been 50+ within a few inches. Thank you for the input. What other forms of life can I expect to see with the human eye in the next few years going forward other than worms?

Healthy soil is a wonderful, complex ecosystem like a small scale rain-forest or coral reef, but it'll take a year or two for it to find its feet so to speak. Millipedes have a lot of feet to find, perhaps that's not the best expression, but you'll find all sorts of tiny creatures setting up home in your soil. The vast majority are beneficial to you as a farmer, which is why it's a good idea not to use insecticides, molluscicides or even fungicides if we're being picky. Enjoy!
