Creep box v vario

[40 series]

Looking at a few jobs where a very low forward speed is required. Currently dont have anything with creep box fitted. It would entail changing a tractor to one with a creep/vario box. Has anyone found vario to be slower than a creep box (something thats fitted in a same hurliman)

No idea about a creep box but just tried 0.1 kph or 100 meters a hour in my Fendt, set it on cruise control. I can confirm it is very slow

I think most cvt tractors go down to 50 meter per hour. You would be hard pressed to find a creeper going below 100, maybe even 200.

Vario would be a far more suitable transmission for low forwards speeds, creeper boxes can be a nightmare for getting a slow enough speed at pto revs.

Buy a vario
Had creep , when you get to end you can just speed vario up
By time you have wrestled gears
And used to be at stwat to get in and out of gear was on a 6930
And you can alter pto revs easy as vario will keep same speed

As @Will 1594 sais with a creeper box doing feeding with a feeder, when you want to turn at the end or go to another passage you have to change gears which is not easy in the low box settings, i am looking to change my one tractor for a cvx box, but hard to find smaller tractors with them around the 100-120 hp bracket, definitely the way to go imo.

Have a old Fendt vario on my feeder and it’s perfect for it. My non techno brother drives it and he won’t go back to a conventional gearbox for the job
