Dont think it matters , this is what I used View attachment 777946

Thatll do it no problem but itll be slow. Shell need to be have good belts and excellant knife as its hard on the machine cutting at 30-35%. Unload on the move and dont let the tank get too full. Sieves wide open and fan flat out.

We've done w.barley the last few yrs but switching to ww this yr. Cattle perform superbly but the diet has to be bang on - we've shaved 40p / day / hd off our feed costs

Another thought , I am washing the beet but it’s very dirty could soil be doing them ?
yes, Ive never been a fan of roots on add lib for that reason and its pure starch , cut it out , you have the best feed you can use in Crimted grain just ad some minerals and a high protien blend if thats what you have , I used beef mineral;s and limstone flour which is cheap

Have you started feeding bicarb to the cattle or just what you have been doing the last few months?

Been using crimpsafe and then the new version and its got better and better . We dont need to use bicarb and risk of acidosis is alot lot lower with crimp grain than dry corn. So much so weve not had any at all. The key is to do the whole job right from cutting to ensiling.
