I was a victim of the Asian flu pandemic in around 1957 and was at boarding school. The Sanatorium was full and a whole boarding house of around 150 beds was the overspill. I remember being fed two aspirins every 4 hours and a glass of water. Water was ad lib but no food or sugary drinks for a week. The hunger was far worse than the flu.

I recall a massive drive around the 60s to come up with a cold cure but without success. I don`t know if is my imagination but when I was a kid all colds seemed relatively similar. In recent years there seemed to be more variety together with some very odd bugs that, though mild, seemed to linger for months.

I think there is over 200 differing virus and strains that cause humans to have colds the largest proportion are around rhinovirus. But I think I read somewhere that a novel vaccine that temporarily disables the protein required to replicate was quite close to final development for these rhinovirus related colds. Could be a major game changer with colds and many other diseases.

It seems to me the govt are hell bent on ramming a vaccine down our throat within a year. Without first even establishing if we even need it. If large numbers of people have had it either with or without symptoms and if this gives them immunity then we might not even need it.
I think that if the government do not explore all possibilities they will be damned.

I guess they didn’t have bleach in those days. Otherwise you could have had an instant cure...
