2012 will remain “the worst one” for some time ( hopefully for ever !! )

It was a baptism of fire for me, my first harvest as a manager and the first for a new JV, certainly a huge test for all of us but we all scraped through, the Wheats were just terrible, farms that would average 10-11 t/ha were cutting 5t of wet shrivelled rubbish

2012 wheats were dreadfull here , well the samples were, to makee it worse we were all santiago, conquer and the other one cant remember the name but it was crap. the conquerer had ears like ive never seen bfore or since! but we ended up with amassive heap of crap worth ££££s a tonne. i had sleepless nights wondering where it would go, local feed mill took the lot with minimul deductions because they couldnt find anything better!

2020 was the poorest harvest I have experienced, at least for winter crops.
W Barley <1t/acre
W Wheat ~2t/acre
WOSR ~0.7t/acre

Conversely the spring crops bar one field of barley were all good.

I think we must have missed a lot of the bad weather during harvest 2012. I seem to remember bumper yields and built a new shed off the back of it as well as changing the combine and main tractor.
The bad weather was from aug 11 till may 13 if u were in the east
Guessing staffordshire is a bit west

It was certainly a wet summer and autumn, but I think that our wheat crops must have avoided much of during flowering. Our bushel weights just about held up over 72 kg/ha while I was hearing horror stories from elsewhere.

2013 was actually worse as the wheat we fid get sown in 2012 was rubbish, half of it was taken out for spring wheat.
We only had 100 ac wheat to cut instead of 400
Yield not clever

2020 by far. Absolute joke of a harvest would have been no worse if I had stayed in bed all year and done nothing. 2012 was sh!t especially as everything looked great in March that year. 2013 was poor as a result of 2012. And 2000-2002 were pretty poor. All because of wet not dry.
