But to be Frank , Frank being my middle name , if you have a pit use it ,with the cost of whap , it all does the same job , pickles it , just a bigger jar

Yes it’s whole crop, probably talking 100 bales of it, so would covering it in pit work out cheaper, suppose the covering of it would be cheaper than the wrap

Baled couple of acres of whole crop last year, barely corn and Italian ryegrass.
I carted them to a grass field for wrapping as stubble was pretty course and scared of punctures. Stacked them singly on an old concrete apron, left space between every bale to give rodents no hiding opertunities and piled plenty of poison down from September onwards. No bales were damaged and fed very well, altho by time had used the last few around Feb time they seemed to be souring a bit so don't think they would keep. The fear of rodents getting at them tho would put me off doing it again, I'd imagine if they got at them the would destroy all infront of them
