Cant find it now but read a thread a while since where someone was asking for opinions on crossbred bulls, this is our first calf to our blue x lim bull, very happy with it.

I remember the chat. I think the general feeling was there were too many variables, and not enough consistency of offspring.
But that calf has proved the usual theory - what a load of rubbish ! :ROFLMAO:
Great calf sir !:)
Home bred bull or bought ?

Agree it's a great calf but one calf can neither prove nor disprove any theory about consistency!

its a bull we bought, when they were young calves we werent sure about him really but filling out now into some of the best calves we`ve ever had. They are all nice quality but can come any colour!

If the sire and dam are of a similar type the variations will tend to be less, or at least, less extreme.
A BB x Lim has a better chance of producing consistency than a BB x Jersey.

If a hybrid bull is used on pure cows that are of a type, the programme will not be any less consistent than a pure bull on hybrid cows.

If I were to choose one option, I would prefer a hybrid cow to a hybrid bull though.
