googled this lunchtime as my shearer didn't turn up:rolleyes:....ewes +lambs were in so dry....i wormed and crovected lambs and crovected shedders heads...it was raining so googled advice which was to keep in for 'several hours' and not to release back onto fields with water courses for 1hr whatever

i let mine back out 2hrs later....i don't use crovect for strike...i use iodine...safer /easier to use for me:)

Struck ewe, clipped and molecto (crovect) on her. Ten mins later buckets down. Will it have effected the pour on? Re-treat tomorrow? (Overdose??)

If it through it down with rain within 10 minutes, suspect it will have reduced cover quite drastically. The trouble is, you won't know by how much, so won't know when you may have a problem again. Crovect doesn't last very long if everything goes to plan, let alone in these circumstances.:(
For the sake of the cost of another dose, I'd retreat and know that it will at least last more than a couple of weeks.

But if they've already gone back out in field, why not retreat in 2-3 weeks, then at least you've had some benefit from the first application?

Edit - though a single struck ewe, which has then been sheared - I wouldn't expect any further trouble with anyway for a few weeks. The residual of crovect application should help keep flies of any soreness.
