Crows spoiling bales

I’ll try that, can’t be done with feeding all my best chocolate to rats

It's worked better than anything else has, just seems weird spreading it on the trap instead of toast

We have many hundreds of rooks roosting nearby (lots of trees & woods here) and I have a 3/4 built ladder trap in the shed.....on the ‘to do’ list for a couple of years.
Unfortunately, we also have plenty of do-gooders about, resulting in my neighbour’s trap getting broken up a few years ago.

Is there any reason you couldn’t mount a ladder trap on an old harvest trailer, then cart it away for the ‘dispatching’, so that it was out of sight of the remaining birds & those do-gooders? Surely they’d still go in once they were used to the parked trailer?

be careful about getting rid of those rooks and jack daws as much as I hate them wrecking bales and shitting all over my barley making holes in bags they are an absolute god send for keeping Ravens away from the lambing fields, bottom end of the farm used to be a nightmare as it was Raven territory, the closer we lamb to the rookery the better.

We wrap ours in white wrap as it keeps the bale cooler and keeps the grass better inside, but crows seem to go for white bales! I spray paint eyes on top of the bales in the field if I don’t have time to move them the same day and this seems to scare the crows off from landing on them, I also spray paint eyes on all the top and side bales in the stack, has kept the crows off so far !!!

White paint ,top bales paint a big circle with a dot in the middle they don’t like that.
