Crystalix worth it or not?

Keep are ewes tight through the winter on a kale turnip field and an old lay with two silage bales, last few years we have used random energy blocks as crysalyx seems expensive, but always had one or two old ewes go down, some not make it back up. this year i decided to use crystalyx just to try, no TLD at all and found the older poorer ewes hung around them. For us to save the grass for ewes with lambs the buckets make all the difference.

With that being said it was a kind winter on them but i will use them again next year.

I use them. Well worth the extra cost I reckon.
Used at tupping as autumn grass losses quality quick up here. And also from scanning to lambing. Triplets stocked at 3/acre eating a block per 20 ewes in 10 days (2x RDI) whereas singles at 4.5/acre were eating a block per 20 in 6 weeks (1/2 RDI). All on very similar old pp.
Just goes to show they can regulate their intake according to need.

Edit. Plus the empty buckets are great for water in lambing pens
