CS Capital Grant - Pasture Pumps

I have got two pasture pumps to put in as part of a capital grant. Just looking for some ideas of what people have done regards a hard-standing area to meet requirements.

On a side note has anyone had success with pasture pumps? The cattle will have access to a proper trough further up the grazing block but it will be interesting to see what they favour

I had great success with a pasture pump in a field with about 8 yearling heifers, after they got used to it they were fine, I put out buckets of water next to it to help them get the idea and then a Trail Cam to check what was going on.

Mine was a nose operated one, unfortunately there was a lot of silt and weed and intermittant problems eventually occurred meaning that I had to look at it every day to check on it, the final straw was a hole in the suction pipe.

All round it was easier to bowser water up there or not have cattle in that field
