CS Revenue Claim Confirmation Beware

I received an email late yesterday saying that I had not completed/submitted my annual CS revenue claim.
This has been an ongoing saga and having failed to get the on line system to work I was advised by the help line to email it in.

This I did and while only receiving an email acknowledgement that I had sent an email I did not of course receive a specific reply relating to the claim.

I tried to telephone yesterday and had to give up when all I could get was recorded messages and leave a number for a ring back, which in my experience never happens.

My neighbour who was also concerned that he had not received a specific acknowledgement of his claim spent a number of hours trying different phone numbers to get confirmation and he had posted his in. He did eventually speak to someone at NE but has only a verbal confirmation.

I cannot understand why they cannot send a specific acknowledgement as is done with BPS on a card.
Be warned this has the potential to be another mess by NE and RPA.

absolutely right, will be the biggest CS fiasco so far.
telling everyone to the deadline is May 15, but hold on, you have no way of submitting. ive emailed in but had no acknowledgement.

On a side note if you do manage to submit it online, sometimes if you don’t require evidence, the submission status says ‘submitted, awaiting evidence’. I was told on the phone to ignore this.

I had that email in spite of having no CS scheme on the go. I was told that it was sent in error because our agreement was abandoned and we mistakenly haven't been removed from the mailing list but the only agreements we have had in the last few years are for Capital works and they have been claimed for.

You ve made my day ! I had the e mail on Tuesday but not in a current CS scheme but do hedgerows and boundary Grant's each year which I submitted in March. Have e mailed and been trying to phone but not getting a response. I was hoping that the e mail was sent by mistake but it does worry you that one day before deadline they throw that at you !?

I know what you mean, I had one a few weeks ago when I was waiting for a payment but it did some good because I checked up on my Hedgerows claim and they had lost it. They won't be connected I wouldn't think but if you are waiting for a payment it might be worthwhile to check that they have it.

The saga of the claims system continues for me and I believe a number of other people as well.
I received a phone call this morning from a nice lady in Worcester office who told me that I had not submitted my 2019 CS Revenue claim. I then went through all the things that had happened, I just managed to keep the conversation civil.

Even though I had been assured by a gentleman in Workington that my claim was received on 24th April and in order, it appears it had not been put on the right system because it had not been signed and dated.
Now when you submit the on line form it is NOT signed and dated and when the on line system failed to work again for me, I asked if I needed to sign and date the form as I had downloaded it from the RPA site. I was assured that I did not have to as the email would verify it was from me and the date and time was on the email. So I submitted the whole downloaded file which says "do not post", which they agree they have received.

They are now saying I am being penalised 1% a day for a late submission!!
I suggested I could sign the last page and date it but I would be dating it on the day I sent it which was 24th April. This they could not accept as if an auditor looked at it then it would be wrong.
You can guess by this time the conversation was a lot less civil.

That's bad for you Frank the wool but not surprised .
All this on line stuff is great when it works or if you've got loads of time to faff with it or are computer savvy but it drives me up the wall when you get messages which makes no sense or are forced to start phoning helplines etc because the computer says no . I know I m old fashion but a paper copy, signed (keeping a copy for yourself)and sent by recorded delivery is far superior than clicking send and hoping you've done the right thing.

I am not a Luddite and I consider that I am pretty computer savvy. I was using a PC in 1982 and other than the occasional glitch coming up to speed with yet another version of Windows over the years, still consider I can find my way around most IT happily enough.

However, I do not trust the RPA's computerised submission systems one iota and having seen and heard too many problems from other farmers, I am happy to still submit my BPS by hard copy. I went to an NFU seminar on the latest changes to the schemes rules etc, and I was the only one in the room smiling when the Speaker asked who was "still submitting by paper"... ;)

The one exception, was the CS small grants scheme last year. It was simple and worked with good staff backing up the scheme. Oh if only it was all like that.....
