I assume you cant enter twins on CTS ? Dont want to enter one calf to find I cant enter another to same dam. Or do I have the joy of phoning?

No calving aids at midnight thenJust make sure you put the same date of birth down for them.
It's possible isn't it but I've never been looking for the trouble to put different dates downNo calving aids at midnight then
If one of them's a bull calf just name it Jaegerbomb (allegedly)It's possible isn't it but I've never been looking for the trouble to put different dates down
I've had a set of twins after using a genus easy calver AI straw of two different breeds.I assume you cant enter twins on CTS ? Dont want to enter one calf to find I cant enter another to same dam. Or do I have the joy of phoning?
Did they accept that or did you need to make a phone callI've had a set of twins after using a genus easy calver AI straw of two different breeds.
Hereford and a BB iirc
I think I had a phone call to double check.Did they accept that or did you need to make a phone call
We had similar. One calf was pure white BB with horns, the other an AA with no horns. The straw used also had limousin in it so a pity it was not tripletsI've had a set of twins after using a genus easy calver AI straw of two different breeds.

It was a few years ago now.
Ive just started registering births using the online job,and did a set of twin heifers today. For the second one it said,"accept a warning" What the hell is all that about?I've had a set of twins after using a genus easy calver AI straw of two different breeds.

But you don't need to identify the sire. And I would guess that even among honest trustworthy farmers, the sire on a passport will in many cases only be an educated guess.
Yes it's quite educated, the breed of bull you put with the cows been the one you put on the passportBut you don't need to identify the sire. And I would guess that even among honest trustworthy farmers, the sire on a passport will in many cases only be an educated guess.
You don't have to put the sire on the birth notification though. Some have teams of bulls working cowsYes it's quite educated, the breed of bull you put with the cows been the one you put on the passport

I know it's conventional and wouldn't do it any other way, but does anyone put the dams breed as the cross rather than the sires? Was thinking about it last night as our software program (@Farm Matters Ltd) pre-fills the breed for a new calf with the dam's breed, and I'm tempted to make a suggestion that it asks for sire first then uses his breed (with an added X if appropriate) to pre-fill the breed field but don't want to mess it up for others.Yes it's quite educated, the breed of bull you put with the cows been the one you put on the passport
