It's not hard work shovelling dust is it ,well we've bedded down on everything apart from sand!sawdust, powder bed, enviro bed, gypson, fly ash how we do it now is the best and fastest way twice a day sawdust, very little mastitis etc etc speed and time is everything in farming!sawdust was half the price it was last year in the summer,we use the equivalent sawdust to 7bags a day.thats 230cows 35 heifers,it's all about lowering ur cop!what do you use ?

I use an AG dispenser on the front of my JCB with the door and windows firmly shut. You are correct shovelling dust isn't hard but that fine sawdust is hateful stuff, no doubt you'll be using a high end dust mask to stop the stuff filling your lungs but it still gets everywhere.

Exactly my thoughts. Shovel to fill and sat in dust not for me. Looks a cracking bit of kit but it'd need a cab for me to even consider even if I could afford it.

Also the 48" bedding chopper self propelled which takes a 6 string Heston bale is work considering ...lower price point and does a great job....

I'm surprised no one ever mentions shelbourne Reynolds in these kinds of threads. I've had one for over ten years. Love it.

Put in a weeks worth of bedding with this kind of machine once a week at the head of the cubicle, at another time of day other than milking! Pull some back with hand scraper as you clean the beds. Low labour input. I don't understand why some folks need to make these jobs so tedious.

Saw a demonstrator working, not for me ,much slower than our ag175,couldn't see it was any better built(especially compared to 175 extra)and also Garnett have excellent back up .Oh almost forgot, made in Britain!!!!!

had a woodchuck on demo with a machine i was trying, hated it…chucked it places you didn't want it to go with those spinning disc, the cubicle passage had as much sawdust on it as the actual beds did..I've a shelbourne, much better in my opinion

Was at Lamma today, saw a fancy ride on sweeper bedders gizmo made by emily. Nice French girl came to try to sell it, depending on spec €18-24000. We'll stick to the hand squeegee and bags of sawdust.

Our AG 175 is 12 years old and has been used in sand for 10 years. It's had a new belt 2 years ago. We changed the pump in 07 when we got our first telehandler. Also changed the two roller proactively from a solid roller to a cage design to allow the sand to drop through.

It's British built and Garnets are good to deal with.
