Cubicle bedding

Hello , I am a combinable crops arable farmer looking to produce cubicle bedding including recycled plasterboard paper.
What do I need to look out for and what is the best product ?

For cubicles with Matt's farmers like a fine product .MDF or killer dust as some call it is best by a mile . but no one likes the dust

Bags or bulk ? Not really thought too much, depends on demand. I would prefer bulk walking floor delivery, but might not suit everyone.

I was told mdf is banned in usa due to the lethal dust, good idea but they would have been better banning guns first bu there you go.

plaster board may not work because of the sulfer content possibly contributing to creating toxic gas in slurry. I would like to use gypsum lime on mine but won't because of risk

As said above, you need to be very careful including plaster board in a product that will mix with slurry because of the danger of hydrogen sulphide release.

Are you looking to utilise your straw differently or are you a devout chopper ?
If not why not rub grind straw to nigh on dust and put in walking floor trailer

good idea but at the straw price as it you would be looking at £150 + after milling

Mmm. It's just the paper, although there may be a very small amount of gypsum still atached . I was aware of the toxicity issues.
It may be too much of a liability to do any further developments.

Depends what value the p and k is to him , I can get sawdust delivered in bags for 120/t
If the nutrient values are less than 80 or so then there is room for margin

yes £100 to £120/ ton is the range for bagged dust . cheap as chips really .I bet a lot pay more than that for bulk kiln dried . lot of work with straw for little gain imo

I don't think the guns are the problem in America, there is something in the cultural script of the USA with guns being the symptom, as I believe there are an equal number or more guns in Switzerland and no shooting problems. Mind you, difficult to alter a cultural script.
