Cubicle fall

Setting out for a run of cubicles today. Just checking my sums.

Book says I want a fall of 2-4%. So 3% is the aim.

The backs are 20.3cm.

Does that make the fronts 21cm to get the fall required?
Doesn't seem a lot.
Don't you love self build.:D.

when we put cubicles in in the 70's, you had a fall of 5ins, over 6ft 6in, then it was recommended to put a lip on the back to stop cows shuffleing bedding out ! spent a fair few hours beating that lip off, in the early 80's, we put another shed up in 83, and the recommendation was dead level.
the earlier cubicles were taken out, as they were to short.

I think your heel stone could be on the high side, ive renovated a lot of cubicles and 6" is nice especially for older cows reversing out of cubicles.

It's all a bit of a compromise really. Passageway width is a bit narrow so lifting heel stone helps.

Also, last batch of cubicles that went in were done at 8" and they have the best recumbency of all. So wanting to do similar again.

Our heal stones are 7 inches seems to work well when you add the mattresses is more than enough I think. Our beds we did 4inchs over 8ft beds so just a 4by 2 on the level boards at the front gives the right fall

I do everything with a 7” heel and aim for 3” fall.

Our cow kennel had fall to the front,we were forever having cows stuck.:banghead: And wet beds:banghead:

All ready to concrete now.

Typically the ready-mix firm I like have a 200 cube job on tomorrow. So might be later in the day.
Builders on another job somehow wangled a load first thing, so doing a labour swap as didn't fancy 9 cube on me own.
