Cull Boar and sow prices

Some commercial pigs have been making it to Melton Market, but there was comment at the last pig sale that several abattoirs were not killing, so no one will buy them if they can't get them killed! Cull sows making £35 I think, but you'll have deductions from that plus the cost of getting there.
I doubt that they would make £35, or anything like it, if someone was to roll up with a hundred extra sows? Not in Melton or anywhere else for that matter. :(

The German processors have ground to ahalt and don’t want any.

I don’t think any market would thank me for turning up with a hundred. I’m more likely to end up with a bill rather than a cheque.

we will see what this week brings

Here's another one for you. Personally, I like a bit of optimism, even if the author has commercial reasons to push that view.

We've been averaging high 90s low 100s for months now for the main finishing site. To be fair it's where i've been aiming.

If feed prices were normal and we all had 10% more finishing space we would probably be happy
