Cultural control of ryegrass

Hi all, just looking up grazing leys in arable rotations. Is there any particular grasses that would be safer to use to minimize future weed problems? Does volunteer Timothy cause problems in cereals for example?

I've only had volunteer grass issues with Italian Ryegrass. Perennial Ryegrass is not the same beast. In fact I used a Perennial Ryegrass ley to cure an IRG issue.

Timothy has a different growth habit and I don't think it would be a big issue in cereals.

In the past growing barley on land without any prior knowledge of it's history would have been considered risky but these days with a lot of products having no useful activity it sort of makes no difference if you grow wheat or barley now.
