But he is not running the country. He is an advisor to the chap who is of course but That is quite different to running the country. As for failed business ventures, I believe you can learn more from your failures than your successes.
Very true he is an adviser and the thing about advice is it's just that. As for failed business ventures well what a fool especially when he could have stayed home and taken over Daddy's farm like the really clever people do.
He really is a cartoon villian to people his dog is probably called Muttley

So when it comes to running the country and the official government management policy on Covid -19, it’s ok for government and Boris to say, “our policy is based on the advice from our scientific advisors”!
I take it there for, that in other matters the government policy is based on advice from others like and primarily Dom!!
So it does appear that the elected elites, are nowadays merely spokespersons for the unelected SPADS!
And funnily enough, this government was elected to “take the country back”! Back I guess from the so called EU unelected!! Well guess what, it’s best not to ask too many questions!!!
whereas you on the other hand take no advice from anyone ?

Winston Churchill wore silk underwear, and yet he was given a state funeral.

And Ted Heath, when he was desperate for pee, fell out of a Landrover into a snow drift on the top of Carter Bar on the A68. He was being driven to Newcastle Airport after addressing the Borders NFU annual dinner at the Dryburgh Abbey Hotel, St Boswells. That didn't even make the news.

Perhaps we should have a poll on here .Those for snitching on each other and those against.
I suggest from now on those posting on here be careful when divulging too much information about how they get around laws and regulations. This might not be the place to freely talk after all.

You have to wonder that a degree in ancient and modern history, several failed and dubious business ventures in Russia and time with Micheal Gove are the qualifications and experience necessary has for running the Country. :scratchhead:

All those who have studied politics seem to be useless at the job. I would far rather they have an open mind and can think outside the box.

Not sure what you are getting at really.
The Government will take advice from all manner of people and will then decide. Its complete rubbish to assume that the act of taking advice means that Government ministers are" merely spokespersons for the unelected "
I am sorry its just complete rubbish

I am trying to get my head round the statement about silk underwear, now if you had mentioned that he gave dictation to young secretaries with no clothes on ! Neither were state secrets though
Ps it Was him with no clothes, in case you misunderstand, of course our current prime minister does have a habit of giving dictation to young ladies with no clothes on but that is another matter, which in another time , certainly would have made public comment ;)

Boris reached the limit of his ability as mayor of London, cutting ribbons and wining and dining foreign dignitaries. The foreign office was a step to far and PM definitely was.

I would rate Boris as the most capable Prime Minister in (my) living memory. He is the only one I can think of who can mix and empathise with anyone in the whole world - from a cleaning lady in a public laundrette, right down to the wife of the President of a world power - and treat them with the same respect.

We are indeed blessed to have him at the helm in these difficult times, and even more important, that he has had the good sense to gather a very able Cabinet around him to make his life easier.

What's he actually done apart from nearly kill himself through his own stupidity?

In the words of John McEnroe,” you have got to be joking “. He is a second rate journalist who as MS says reached and exceeded his limits while mayor of London. Yes he has a personality but that is no qualification for running a country. He has assembled a bunch of talentless yes men as his cabinet and they probably make him look better than he is by being so bad themselves. He is a one trick pony who got Brexit done and never expected to have to deal with anything other than that. He is now so far out of his depth that he will forgive Cummings anything just so long as he stays to save him.

He is a director in the farm business.
yep I responded to that here
well IF its partly his then the council should sort it out and take appropriate action against both of them
not the first person to do that sort of thing and won't be the last, action should be taken the same as it would for anyone else and punishment dished out the same as for anyone else, after all we can't have one set of rules and one set of punishments for them and different sets for the rest of us

I don't know about blessed but he is a big improvement on what has gone before. He doesn't seem to worry about making mistakes which I think is a very good thing. He got sick because he didn't hide away and he didn't die even though he is overwight and i would think pretty stressed which means he has a much better understanding of the virus than most people. I love how everyone else knows so much about this totally new disease. The truth is we are still learning about all this and it will probably be this time next year before we can assess whether it was a good job done but at present who really knows so whichever course taken is taken without any real knowledge as every scientist/epidemiologist has a different plan.
Boris Johnson and Dominic Cummins they're are characters like it or not. When you get people who try to please everyone you get people like Tony Blair real evil with a lovely smile.

I like Boris as a person and I am sure he is good fun to be with, but a wouldn't trust him to run a bath, let alone the country. Something, I am sure he himself is actually well aware of, (unlike Trump) hence his dogged and personally very damaging defence of the political psychopath, Dominic Cummings.

Ah, there we have it. Take the country back and give it to a couple of “characters”, to run it.
Reminds me of back in the day when I was physically fit on the one hand, and drinking way too much beer on the other hand. In order to keep fit, and keep drinking the best option seemed to organise a bit of a pub soccer tournament. There was never any bother for each pub on the district to get their own resident “characters” to get the whole thing up and running.
Well the craic was mighty! We lived in the moment, and enjoyed every single minute.
Carry on there Boris and Dominic, sure this auld Covid lark and the trade deal mullarkey is great craic all together. Don’t forget to throw a few slabs of beer in the back of the pick up.
