what did he do that was stupid ?

Despite evidence from abroad, despite advice from his own scientific advisers back in early January, he continued to shake hands, he continued to hold meetings in closed rooms where the participants were less than 1m apart never mind 2 and went on way beyond 15 minutes, he continued to move between residences, he continued (when he could be arsed) to liaise with any number of civil servants ...

Fairly stupid in my book

So, all of you cretins who obviously want Boris to fail, who would you rather have at the helm? And don't forget, we still have a certain Mr Barnier to deal with.

As a former research scientist, when, as my fellow farmers put it ''I had a proper job'', one thing that is endemic in the Science Community is that there is almost always a lot of disagreement and rivalry amongst even the most eminent scientists.

And most scientists are devoid of practical experience and are either unwilling or unable to offer simple pragmatic advice.

If you were a research scientist, and presumably have a few brain cells, then why write such utter drivel about Johnson?

Calling people "Cretins" isn't germane to stimulating a sensible debate

And, within a space of only a few months, Johnson seems to have stirred up a lot of ill feeling among his own back bench MPs. Let's see how many rebel when the idea to lockdown travellers for 14 days plays out later today

Even if that is true .. and the evidence would seem to back that up ... Johnson still ignored advice and the evidence of his own eyes from abroad. His bravado nearly proved fatal to him.
I call that stupid

Sill disappointed that lockdown unofficialy ended With his speech in the rose garden since then no one round here has given moving around a 2nd though

whereas you on the other hand take no advice from anyone ?
Advice is advice, a politicians job is to listen to the advice and then decide what to do, if all a politician had to do was follow the advice there would be no need for leaders, we could be governed by scientists, I am sure that would go well! Maybe as well as Teresa May's government or even better, the EU!

Who does anyone believe about the dangers and affects of this virus. For a lot of scientists/epidemiologists this is a dream come true a pandemic which can kill millions all the plans they have made they can now put into practice doesn't matter how iffy their modelling is the more who are going to die the more attention you get. But the problem for Goverments is the 'what if factor' basically what if the nutters are right and what if we didn't listen. It's part of our health and safety world.
Everyday there is conflicting information coming through a Doctor in Italy says the cases they are seeing now are not as virulent as two months ago a Doctor in Scotland says this isn't true even though he's in Scotland not Italy.
We are dealing with unknown variables like it or not. So anyone who thinks Johnson has got it wrong may be right but they could be wrong so a bit of humility from people would be a good thing. Dominic Cummins big deal who cares. If you want to use him as an excuse to go to the beach go ahead as you were probably on your way anyway.
Me two seasons in the lab at Bardney beet factory makes me a scientist too.

I am fairly sure ( although I have to admit I cant be bothered to check so apologies if I am wrong) that some , or maybe even all, who have criticised Boris Johnson for listening to advice have also criticised him for not listening to advice. Possibly in the same thread too.!

Seeing as Johnson is supposedly far better placed than the vast majority to hear and be advised on the effects of the virus before the rest of us, and seeing as he chose to ignore it then that makes him stupid.

So we just keep lifting lockdown and hope it goes away. Maybe it will go away if more people have had already had it than we think, or if it has become milder, or if has already taken the lives of all those most susceptible to it.
But if nothing fundamentally has changed and we lift lockdown we are in for a huge second wave as the virus is more widely spread now than it was months ago when a few spreaders came in by plane.
Nobody knows though really do they? All these big salaries, professors and research institutes sucking in millions a year for decades and no beggar even knows if you can catch it twice.
We are lied to on a daily basis. This is safe, that is safe and that nauseating cop out “following the science” when a lot of it is contradictory and a complete muddle.
Why can’t they be honest? Yep, we need to keep the economy going to a large extent though it would be wise to take some sensible precautions. It’s not really “safe” to restart the economy but it’s a risk we have to take if we are to avoid economic collapse. While doing so we need everybody to be sensible about minimising risk of transmission. A
Bit of self restraint and self denial would help the common good, maybe give granny a few more years and avoid overstretching the health service.

ahh I get you now, so there is different stupid for them than there is for the rest of us, glad we cleared that up
just like different punishment for some of them than there is the rest of us but some of them are ok they can do what they like.
we are really getting to the bottom of it now
