Do you do the above each year before harvest starts . I ask it seems to me very few do.
Ok it all takes time and diesel but I know of two estates near me , one does the other doesn’t they both have hedgcutters.
In my opinion a bit a very basic farm /estate management overlooked, but essential to try and avoid accidents at harvest when the pressure in for grain cart drivers to get back to the combine so it doesn’t need to stop.

There is nothing quite like a full farm inspection during harvest triggered by someone making a complaint. And there are plenty of complainers ready to denounce a neighbour since COVID.

It's not to do with width it's to lower the height so the drivers can see vehicles on the road before they pull out
If tractors had forward control cabs and not a full pack of weights on front linkage then they might be able to see. ;)

Hedge trimmer still on here as I didn't need to take it off to put fert spreader on this year. :(
I'll be giving the gateways a tickle soon.

Just remember to keep your eyes peeled for the BT cable left lying on top of the hedge.... the coil of fiber optic wrapped around his flail head is not even good for scrap my mate tells me... :ROFLMAO: And turns out his neighbour caught the same line from the other side last year  Honestly I think some of open reach enginners leave half finished jobs to ensure there will always be more to do!

Keep an eye out to get it or to avoid it?
Not much chance of any bt cable here but if I saw one it would be getting pulled out and snipped.
Lazy openreach gits!

probably best to avoid snipping it if you like to keep on the good side with the village locals... mate is keeping a low profile :ROFLMAO:

Not got our own hedge cutter but we do around roadside gateways with a battery powered Stihl cutter bar: doesn’t take long at all, higher stuff can be done safely from the work platform on the loadall.

Down here in Devon our roads are so narrow that with kids cycling it becomes so dangerous for them that I make sure & trim the sides of all our many road hedges in July before the schools break up, it's ridiculous that we have a government encouraging cycling but making our roads ever more dangerous for cyclists.
Pretty much par for the course with this lot ain't it!!
