CVT John Deere 3350

Well nearly. I was browsing an old JD 3350 manual and came across this. Anyone ever seen or used one?

They had been working on the concept for a long time before it came to market.

Presumably they had a hydraulic motor, selectively connected to the front prop?.
Surely not a version of the old Hfwd assist system.

I remember an old mechanic who worked for Blyth and Pawsey telling me about that. They tried to use it to power a tractor around the yard that was in neutral. It didnt have he power to pull its self along if i remember correctly!

Cornthwaites at pilling sold one when I worked there. Sure it was sold to a veg farm and could travel very slowly.

Fendt did the same on the 600 series. Upto 15 km/h I think.
