CX radiator

Hi, whilst servicing round the combine today I noticed that the radiator had a lot of wet dust stuck to it on the bottom section and also underneath the radiator itself. The radiator appears to be in three sections, a small top one then large middle section then a small bottom section. Will one section be for the air con? The air con does not appear to be working either, could this be linked?? The water level in the header tank does not appear to be low.

IIRC, the top section is the intercooler, the middle one is the coolant radiator and the bottom one is the hydraulic/hydrostatic oiled cooler.
Usually, the air-con section will be separate, between the rotary screen and the (above mentioned) radiators.

I suspect you have a leak from the hydraulic/hydrostatic section. Is the dust oily?
If so, check the oils level.
You may find you start to get a hydrostatic oil temperature overheating warning.

If you can find the leak, you could try soldering it, if you drain all the oil out of the rad.

There may be what looks like an un-driven fan that rotates in front of the rads. This is called a wiper. It’s purpose is to create a drop in pressure as it passes, then a surge to keep the rads clean.
Check its bearing and make sure it isn’t catching any of the rads as it rotates. This is often a cause of the rads starting to leak.
