Some sort of time trial going past our farm today. They are coming down the road like maniacs and someone is going to get hurt. They have no consideration for other road users. One nearly hit my son who was coming up the road in the tractor. Who's in charge of it @rhifsaith Ystwyth???

Thanks I will. Two came past a passing place and had to squeeze between the hedge and my landrover just a couple of minutes ago. They must have some sort of death wish.

I am always surprised that they are granted permission for such events? If you tried to do the same using any other mode of transport, then you'd not be allowed.
As you say, very little consideration is given to other road users!

I'm not anti cycling, far from it, I enjoy cycling. But these events can be dangerous, along with club cycling, when packs of 10-20+ flying around the lanes and roads, impossible to safely get past them, and meeting them on sharp bend and junctions is frightening!

We have lots of organised cycling events up this road which are a PITA as well as more than our fair share of recreational cycling which I don't really mind as much but this lot today are going to hurt themselves or someone else.

We have 2 big international events near here every year, long distance road races with many teams. On the day itself there are road closures which are publicised in advance - more so for one event than the other. I can cope with that. What is much more dangerous is the day (or a few days beforehand) when some of them take a trip around the course for a trial run with no escorts in place. There was a cyclist in a 'pack' killed near here a few months back on a single track country lane. They just seem to assume there is nothing round the next blind bend.

They time trial on an evening along the A63 into Hull here, its 70mph and they are every 400m or so the trucks are having to weave in and out and everyone is having to move all over. I love to cycle but I can never understand how they get permissions as thye join at one junction go about 4miles then round a round about and back down the other side
