D Max EGR valve

A mate had one with a boot, forgot what they called it? Before that, he had a 128 (Fiat) Lada or was it a 1500 Lada they called them, cant remember. He couldn't leave it ticking over or the diodes in the alternator would pop as they lived right beside the exhaust manifold. So the Lancia was a big step up.

The Lancia Prisma was the saloon car based on the first generation Delta platform, not many were sold in the UK or Ireland as by that time Lancia had a terrible reputation for rust.

The Fiat 124 became the Lada Riva if I remember correctly, though it might have been something else in between those models.

Have done my EGR, D-max has done 86K miles, noticed it was a bit sluggish up hills when towing. Went to my local dealers and had a word with the mechanic, who suggested fuel filter first and then EGR, mine had had a filter relatively recently so went with the EGR, it was around £300 and I fitted it myself in about 10 minutes, very simple to fit.
Noticed a vast improvement after. The old EGR wasnt clogged too badly but the oil/soot etc apparently tends to work it's way up the stem and into the electrical gubbins.

Thanks. I'll give the cleaner a go first then maybe look at swapping it in the future.

ed probably had a night on the beer to say that....
would have been interesting to see the dyno print out before and after

It did (y) IIRC he was doing up an old Jag, and it nearly blew up the emissions testing machine then ran it on Terraclean for an hour and it was just about as good as a brand new car :wideyed:
