It's due a swap August so not really wanting to mess too much.
Is the egr blank a diy job on its own?
Put some cleaner in and made no difference.@Dave W how did you get on with this issue?

Having said that, I didn't use the one you recommended Rob. Think something got lost in translation somewhere. Clicked on wrong link or something, just looked at it properly . I'll give your recommendation a whirl firstPut some cleaner in and made no difference.
The more I think about it I'm not sure how a diesel additive can do any work on the exhaust side of things.
Think I'll get the egr valve off next and get some oven cleaner round it

Ordered some of the correct stuff. I'll let you knowI only ask as I’ve a friend having the same issue as your motor. He’s scratching his head on it and wondered if I could give him any feedback.
Yes, you say a "blocked" egr but quite often they carbon up, not the valve but the carbon/oil go up into the inner workings and (in my case) hold the valve open a tad, which meant the turbo wouldnt be getting the full exhaust gas to spool up like it normally would, hence boost was down as the exhaust gas was going back into the engine intake system instead of spooling up the turbo's.One thing I've not established. Would the blocked egr affect the mpg and power?
Thanks. That makes sense as I've half suspected turbos not making full pressureYes, you say a "blocked" egr but quite often they carbon up, not the valve but the carbon/oil go up into the inner workings and (in my case) hold the valve open a tad, which meant the turbo wouldnt be getting the full exhaust gas to spool up like it normally would, hence boost was down as the exhaust gas was going back into the engine intake system instead of spooling up the turbo's.
I really noticed a difference, before I noticed it would almost surge when revved past 2,000 rpm despite filter changed.
Changed EGR and I can actually hear the turbo spool up when driving with the window down (I couldnt before) The engine pulls a lot better and I can rev it up to 4k without any surging at all.
So in my case it was a lot better than it was but I still have to go into 2nd gear when towing a trailer loaded with Fergie/plough up the Birdlip Hill by the Air Balloon.
Don't know tbh. Never notice it doing one and don't watch the gaugeHow often is it doing a regen , just out of interest ?
Yes, this would be a good try, I would however drill a small hole in the plate, as you'll end up with warning lights on the dash if not careful, plenty of info on the net re blanking plates for EGR on Isuzu D- Max'sIf your still in doubt after cleaning, just slide a bit on bean tin in to block it, just to test?
Then you know its not leaking, see if there is any difference
Mine had plenty of torque low down but as soon as you needed some grunt it just ran out of steam almost to the point of me thinking it had a boost issue, boost leak. Almost as if it was working ok on the small turbo but as soon as the larger one was needed it just wasnt producing boost.Thanks. simple things first is check the air hoses!!First place id look for reduction in power on a dmax is injectors !
