Nothing worse than having the person who last serviced the vehicle having overtightened the nuts....🙄

Yes, Audi Q7 was originally... maybe still is, ok but where do you now put the one you took off?
In the boot, assuming the car isn't loaded to the gunnels. I carried four full wheels plus three of us plus luggage back from London in the Volvo. Not much spare room but soft bags could have been added on top of the wheels.
The once I had a puncture in the previous Q7, it was near home and I just plugged it while it still had some air left, inflated it and left it for nearly an hour before travelling some 15 miles. It was fine for another 5 to 6 thousand miles until the tyres wore out [again].

Not long after passing my test I was out driving one evening & came across an elderly couple struggling to change a wheel on something like a Corsa. Feeling generous I stopped to lend a hand - the old boy was struggling to undo the wheel nuts, so advised him to let my younger arms have a go. As soon as I tried... "Young man, don't you know that the wheel nuts are a left hand thread to stop them unravelling whilst the wheels are turning" :banghead: :banghead:

I diplomatically tried explaining that it's not the case on modern vehicles, but that provoked a diatribe about him having driven for 50 years & thus knowing what he was talking about. He wrested the wheel brace from my hand & proceeded to carry on bouncing up and down further tightening up the nuts. By this point a police car had pulled up, plod agreed with me, but the old boy refused to believe the copper who got quite exasperated. In a flash of inspiration I suggested that maybe if we "turned them the wrong way a bit it might free them up by compression". Eventually managed to free them off & proved that we were right about which way the nuts tighten... old boy got really narky & criticised everything we did - jack placement, not lifting high enough, then too-high - "you'll damage the suspension", taking too long, not tightening the nuts enough, nuts too tight.... "They need to teach you youngsters about showing respect to your elders & betters...."
Shudda kicked him in the nuts!

Arriving late at a point to point at Larkhill we were lucky enough to find a parking space in a long row of cars. The chap in front seemed to having a job changing a rear wheel, had the spare out but couldn't loosen the nuts. I got a length of scaffolding pipe out of my boot kept for that purpose and we quickly got the wheel changed. Stepping back I tripped over a piece of rebar sticking out of the ground, hidden in the long grass. Looked like there had been a building there before. Probably what had caused his puncture, but hey, happy day I had helped someone, seemed a good omen for the day...Got back to the car I found another piece of rebar staking my front tyre, so another wheel change ! Up to the secretary's tent to complain, can we see your ticket sir ? Passed the ticket over to be shown the parking at owner's risk bit on the ticket. Got back to the car, £100 down for a new tyre and not a happy bunny, OH said I should have taken the pipe with me. Lost on every race and never went back again.:mad:

just looked it up as your comment surprised me having bought 6 new cars in this time frame. In fact it November 2014
I was surprised too. Very. Had another look and it seems that the earlier date was for the USA not Europe. Should have known because my pickup is early 2014 and it doesn't have it and all my cars since do.

Neither my 8 year old Volvo, my 5 month old vw, have it?
My 2013 original Honda did have TPS, even though it wasn't compulsory until later. The Honda's and Volvo only give an indication that their tyre pressure is low and do not give an actual pressure readout. They do this by calculating wheel rotations using the ABS sensor together with potentiometers determining the relative ride height. My [daughter's] Qashqai and my potential new car have sensors within the wheel, attached to the valves, that give the actual pressure of each tyre by broadcasting it to the ECU.
If you have a 5 month old VW it will certainly have one of the systems.

Our 2014 Nissan Note has them and worth remembering that pumping up the tyre may not switch the warning light off. Been driven mad by this many times until I read the handbook, has to be 'reset' with the dash controls.
