Dairy AHEMS Placement

Hi there,

My name is Esha and I am a first year veterinary student at the Royal Veterinary College looking to do a two week dairy placement starting June 24th-July 7th for myself and my friend. We are keen learners and don’t have much experience with dairy cattle however we are very hardworking individuals who work well in a team. Our placement requires us to work with a minimum of 90 milking cows.

We don’t mind travelling to anywhere in the UK and we are based in London. Ideally we would prefer something with accommodation however if this is not the case and there is accommodation near by we don’t mind that either.

If you have any availabilities for 2 students during those dates please reach out! We are desperate to finding a placement!!

Look forward to hearing from you!

Hi Esha,

My advice;

1. Push it back to late August, you can help calving on an autumn block calving farm.

2. Consider getting separate placements, you are pushed more out of your comfort zone when meeting/working with new people alone. I appreciate it is daunting, but you'll learn more, the farmer/team can dedicate more time to you.

Good luck.
