Thought this bit sold last year @Thomas-milmain ?
Yeah think the people who bought it had a run of bad luck to be fair , it’s not easy running a dairy farm from a distance
Wondered if that was one that had been bought to run from a distance
What would it actually make ? Offers over £2m could mean anywhere
I'm out,bit far out on a limb for me.
Land of milk and honey
Be near you ?
Be about 20 miles north,
What’s wrong when this hasn’t sold?
Went on a young farmers exchange to Stranraer,I couldn't believe the lad I stayed with let his cows out every day of the year, shame it's a long way from anywhere.
Was farm down Port Logan way advertised a few weeks back, didn't look bad but had a very near neighbour.
I'm looking for 300acre in a ring fence,within 10miles of town,anywhere north of Lancs.
It’s definitely the land of milk and honey..... just hee haw else Exciting times stressful I bet but still exciting. 300 acre ring fence
Are you looking to relocate and milk cows @eulb?
Relocate and retire.
How far north are you willing to go?
Why ? You selling ?
Far enough that the mother in-law will visit but not stay.
Realistically not higher than Glasgow.
Why are the farms so cheap there? I just assumed it was the weather, but if he was putting his cows everyday, it can't be that bad. Is it just purely because it's so far from anywhere? 2.5 million buys bugger all down in Cornwall, but up there it could get me a lovely 400 or 500 acre farm
Nicola Sturgeon !
You only have to go into Cumbria and land value is half our area.
A self made local farmer who got to owning 500acres told my dad if he had his time again he'd go to Scotland.
One of my farming heros told me he'd go to France,OK but spoilt by the French.
