That’s a real shame the way that one went. Frances is a lovely woman.Another for sale in Wales.

400 cows on 290 acres looks a shaky model to me. Not meaning to be off just how it looks to me who’s considering moving.Another for sale in Wales.

As far as dairy farms go now 50% owned 50% rented would be quite normal400 cows on 290 acres looks a shaky model to me. Not meaning to be off just how it looks to me who’s considering moving.
We’d be 25 owned 75% rented …… it’s not an ideal situationAs far as dairy farms go now 50% owned 50% rented would be quite normal
Her husband through it all away for a cheap shag to put it bluntly.I don't know the story but have met Frances a few times, it's such a shame to see 3 obviously well invested units, so near to each other, for sale in such a short period of time.
Snap, I'm finding the most frustrating part, especially on the short tenancies, is the lack of ability to spend on improvements, do you find the same? Even just reseeding ground, not worth doing unless you know you'll still have it 5 years time! We’d be 25 owned 75% rented …… it’s not an ideal situation
Yes and no. It all depends on the agreement but normally we just agree a sliding scale now on reseeding. So if they Chuck us out after year one it’s £150 back and slides down to £0 year 5 I think. It’s not easy but I know @Cows 'n grass has it much harder with more landlords than meSnap, I'm finding the most frustrating part, especially on the short tenancies, is the lack of ability to spend on improvements, do you find the same? I'm 100% tenanted with only a 5yr fbt term. Fencing is written off after 5 years and no one (LL, agent) seems to understand our reluctance to keep investing.Snap, I'm finding the most frustrating part, especially on the short tenancies, is the lack of ability to spend on improvements, do you find the same? I think that's what I'm going to do from now on, I take it you get that in a written agreement?Yes and no. It all depends on the agreement but normally we just agree a sliding scale now on reseeding. It’s not really the spot but rather the area. Husband grew up not that far away so knows the area relatively well albeit not technically a local. Historically the family have never had much luck with buying farms/land that side of the top road either so just not the one for us.What don't you like about it? Pm if you'd rather?
Yes written agreement, tbh wouldn’t stand up to any scrutiny but pulls on their honour in the event of drastic changeI think that's what I'm going to do from now on, I take it you get that in a written agreement?

Surely the big problem is, if you can't pick up plenty of land locally to rent you end up buying a big farm, with only half the sheds full, or paying a fortune to move feed in for miles400 cows on 290 acres looks a shaky model to me. Tarmac farming not a thing in your area???? Main sign of successSurely the big problem is, if you can't pick up plenty of land locally to rent you end up buying a big farm, with only half the sheds full, or paying a fortune to move feed in for miles
That's the problem buying the farm but probably wasn't the problem as the farm was investing and growing.Surely the big problem is, if you can't pick up plenty of land locally to rent you end up buying a big farm, with only half the sheds full, or paying a fortune to move feed in for miles
I don't know the spot or the area but you wouldn't buy much like that round here for the money. It’s not really the spot but rather the area.
