Been looking for some help atm. Shocking amount of guys 17/18 whose mums are replying to the ad. I'm sorry but if mummy is looking for a job for you, it doesnt sit well with me as a potential employer?? Anyone else feel the same?
Had one here for the past 6 weeks, his mum replied to the ad, she arranged it with me, they arrived here to see if they wanted it, didnt bother looking around with me as they were in a rush, she spoke for him the half hour they were there, she would ask me questions for him etc. When he was here I would wonder round the corner expecting him to follow me I would be talking to him explaining what I'm doing etc and I'd turn around and hed be nowhere to be seen! The plan was that he wanted to do an apprenticeship (again she said this not him!) but I said 2 weeks ago I couldnt take him on as I dont have time for babysitting! He was meant to stay and milk with me on the saturday evening each week, not once did this happen! Tbh I dont think he was really that interested...

Think every generation kids get older if that makes sense, I bet ag colleges now are the same as years 7-8-9 used to be at high school 30 years ago just with tractors and crops instead of algebra and Shakespeare.

Friend runs a big agents business in London. Always puts his personal phone number on the adverts. Advertises every year for graduates but rarely gets a call. If they ring, they get a job.
Same here with vets students. We offer 3 two week placements during calving. The only way to guarantee a placement is to ring the minute the ad. goes out, it might be 2 days before I check the e-mail.
