You could either send it back or give it to charity if it is blanket paid. If at all.Can see the headlines tho @Thomas-milmain
Or use it to buy more cows. You could either send it back or give it to charity if it is blanket paid. If at all.
You imagine dumping 7 days of milk then getting less than 20p av for the rest, you could be looking at eating from a food bank! You’ve no idea what they will be going through. I think it’s a good thing if it stops animals going hungry and perhaps people to! But must be given to the right farmers. Can see the headlines tho @Thomas-milmain
The village where I live there’s a lot of people not earning as normal currently sharing veg, eggs baking in the local phone box it’s a real difficult situation. You imagine dumping 7 days of milk then getting less than 20p av for the rest, you could be looking at eating from a food bank! It needs to be channeled in the right direction, we have had our A litreage reduced for Apr and will no doubt get a kicking on our B litres but I would happily pass on any handout provided it goes to producers who have had to dump milk or have only been paid teens of pence for all litres, ie county milk producers. Or on deferred payment termsYou imagine dumping 7 days of milk then getting less than 20p av for the rest, you could be looking at eating from a food bank! Unfortunately very few dairy farmers think like you. They would think let the next door neighbour give money away we will keep it. But producing a product below cop that’s what we r programmed to do. I think it will Ben a blanket payment. What I do think they should do is work out volumes and pay farmers a pence per litre, say .5 pence a litre for 1 monthIt needs to be channeled in the right direction, we have had our A litreage reduced for Apr and will no doubt get a kicking on our B litres but I would happily pass on any handout provided it goes to producers who have had to dump milk or have only been paid teens of pence for all litres, ie county milk producers. My arable next door neighbour has literally had some of his crops flood away this winter but he won't get a bailout...We've had bad weather since last Sept, where is the arable and beef fund???
Not quite the same. Other businesses aren’t gettinf income but thier costs are minimal. Dairy farmers costs are the same with in some cases no income. Very, very hard to compare dairy to other industryEvery other business in other walks of life are not getting a bailout... just access to the business interruption loan... or the 80% self employed help IP to £2500 a month...
