Dairy-Tech 2018 PR and Pictures Thread

Dairy-Tech is a dairy event tailored for the new generation of dairy farmer, manager and technician. It will showcase ground-breaking technology, inspiring uptake of the latest science and field-based skills, introducing a fresh range of innovative products and services, and pioneering new global concepts in management efficiency.

Due to the transformation in the dairy industry over recent years it is becoming increasingly apparent that farmers need to be competitive, and irrespective of their system type and market they supply, they need to match both to their available resources and milk contract.

Regardless of their cost base, future successful dairy businesses must be informed, resilient, proactive and efficient; Dairy-Tech provides this platform, alongside a recognition that dairy farming has become a professional industry.

Dairy-Tech will showcase a fresh show that recognises the pressing needs of the modern dairy professional, allowing them to gain maximum exposure to new and exciting industry innovations relevant to their business, despite a large variation in cost base and system.

PR and Pictures

If you are attending the show, please feel free to add your PR to this thread and any pictures of your stand during the show.

quite agree, you going to dairy tech ?

Not a cat in hells chance.
Bloody fed up of dairy farming. Too many hangers on trying to live off my back. This place would be full of them. Got to beg someone to do a days work and allow me to pay them.
Most engineers I’ve seen lately can’t keep going the kit they are supposed to know let alone more modern crap which will be on display there.

FOOT-WASH Plus from Fabdec

footwash.jpg

FOOT-WASH Plus is an automatic stainless steel footbath for cows.

It counts the cows, allows the used water to drain away quickly, rinses it with a powerful spray and then refills the bath using a high capacity pump. Hoof-care product can be added during refill using the two high volume dosage pumps.

There are plumbing connections on both sides and handles on each corner for portability.

Side panels and rails are an option. Visit Fabdec at Dairy-Tech, stand I48 to see the bath in action.

Effective micro-organisms Ltd – Bokashi

Bokashi is Japanese for ‘well fermented organic matter’ and is the most efficient way to replenish the soil with organic matter.

In contrast to traditional compost there is virtually no CO2 emmissions and the energy is retained. This makes Bokashi the most environmentally friendly method to recycle green waste effectively and increasing the sustainability to the farm and workplace. By fermenting all fresh organic matter (Examples include FYM, slurry, vegetable waste, grass, leaves, cuttings etc.) according to the Bokashi method, savings can be made on both the cost of transporting the waste elsewhere or removing the waste and buying in new fertiliser.

Bokashi composts provides the optimal nutrition for the soil and its microbiota.

Semex spearhead’s Dairy-Tech Show’s Antimicrobial Resistance Hub forum

Semex UK is sponsoring the antimicrobial resistance (AMR) Hub forum of the RABDF’s new Dairy-Tech event to help communicate the importance of taking pro-active action on this vitally important issue. It will also use the platform that the new “techie show” offers to illustrate how helping to reduce antibiotic resistance by cutting drug use on farm starts with the breeding of healthier animals in the first place. This is something that the firm’s unique Immunity+ sires help facilitate, because these sires have been identified and selected as possessing more “healthy genes” than other sires. The trait has been shown to have high heritability so they pass on these genes to their offspring, giving the daughters a higher natural level of immunity to disease themselves. In turn, the use of Immunity+ sires on these daughters multiplies the effect and means the health status of the herd increases significantly over time.

Daughters sired by Immunity+ sires have also been shown to produce colostrum with a higher level of antibodies than normal, giving their calves more protection against pneumonia and other typical calf diseases and allowing them to get off to a vigorous, healthy start in life.

“Healthy cows require fewer drugs, including antibiotics,” says Michael Dennison, Semex UK’s sales manager. “Thus, reducing drug use means integrating health into the breeding philosophy of the farm. That’s where Immunity+ comes into play – starting the process of reducing antibiotic usage from the moment the animal is conceived.”

As part of the Hub’s discussions on AMR Semex’s Global Dairy Solutions Co-ordinator Dr Stephen Larmer will be presenting the latest news and views on breeding and selecting animals for better long-term health and disease resistance in a talk entitled “Antibiotic reduction: The Genetic Solution”. Prior to this Dr. Kristen Reyher of Bristol University will introduce the subject of AMR, and the session will be followed by a Q & A session.

The focal point of the show the ‘Dairy Hub’ is set to house the event’s featured speakers, seminars and workshops with our keynote speaker taking to the stage just after the official event opening.

The programme of speakers, some global, will cover the most topical issues currently highlighted within the industry so expect to hear more on AMR and the strategies required to help reduce its use; mega dairies and how they are using the latest technological advances; Brexit and its effects on labour, exports, milk price and access to markets; organics workshops and its place within the industry; the importance of soil/slurry/manure/water and forage testing and sampling, use of GPS mapping and the analysis of test evaluation.

The RABDF stand will adjoin the ‘Dairy Hub’ and will provide visitors with the chance for ‘Ask the Expert’ sessions with key industry figures and Council members. We will also be championing all RABDF activity including policy work, the APPG, membership, farm walks, Gold Cup, Women in Dairy and conference news.

Visit the Dairymaster stand at Dairy Tech, Stand I44 today to see the latest in dairy technology!

Dairymaster’s Swiftflo revolver rotary continues to be leading the market in terms of innovation and the best has just got better by introducing Dairymaster Rotaglide. Rotaglide is an advanced rotary platform table roller system, which carries rotary equipment and facilitates the smooth rotating movement of the plant during milking with minimal energy consumption. The Dairymaster Rotaglide wheels carry several tonne at a time. The dynamic load bearing system evenly distributes the load regardless of the weight on the platform, similar to the suspension system in a car. The benefits are less maintenance, lower energy costs driving the platform and better reliability.

The Swiftflo Commander is the new brain of the milking parlour, controlling everything to do with milking, feeding and animal health. It displays important information such as milk yield, milking time, somatic cell count data on each cow and much more.

The MooMonitor+ App is the newest stage in the evolution of Dairymaster’s ground-breaking MooMonitor+ health and fertility monitoring system. This App works in tandem with the MooMonitor+ collar, and no matter how big the producer’s herd is this App has the power to identify animals that need their attention, anytime, anywhere.

To find out more about these products visit stand I44 and talk to any of the Dairymaster Team.

Good show just got back, not many AI companies & feed companies but plenty of other stands there, plenty of farmers there

Yes but it's just a cockstride for you. Seems a bit mad to have it in Stoneleigh with its poor communications (other than road) when most of us farm out West.
They should just get in to bed with Holstein UK and put on the show at Telford or similar
