I went!
If nothing else, an interesting day out. I went with a mate who relief milks and milk records on farms so he knew a few people to scrounge tea and biccies from.
Some of my thoughts from the day:
Much as @Beef farmer said (I think!) there are alot of people complicating the job, and taking their cut.
Anyone offering a product to 'add value' to milk wants alot of that value for their product!
Lots of stands there very keen to give you something, I was given several mugs, pens, packs of sweets, even a pack of estrotest stickers which will probably last me until next year's event.
UK sires direct were the only semen company who seemed keen to talk to us, and also genuinely interested in what we are doing here. The Cogent stand looked like a ghost town.
Many of the visitors there looked like they actually milked cows, whereas at Cereals most visitors seemed to 'have a chap' to do their bidding.
Lots of attractive girls working around the dairy industry trade.
as a mod I can delete that last sentence if ever S is likely to read in ..........................

There is some very attractive people involved within the industry. It also rang true that of you employ a lot of attractive people to sell "stuff" your stand was busier.
Each to their own. I get wound up if they have no idea what they are talking about. If I'm there for some "free" hospitality maybe but mostly I just want to have someone's attention and get my query responded to. The rest you can get elsewhere

To be fair, although I wouldn't have asked any really technical questions, they did appear to know what they were talking about, and answered the questions I did have.
I was more concerned that one I spoke to was absolutely convinced she new me from somewhere.
