Dash cams

Not sure if this is the right page to put this on ?
But has anyone bought a dash cam recently they could recommend on ease of setting up, clarity & of course price, seems a bit of a minefield, from ultra cheap to quite expensive !

I think it's time Mrs Gapples & I got kitted up with them, looks likely now insurance companies are going to be using an awful lot more.

Sorry not recently but...
I have two dash cams in vehicles, both Transcend, got them about 2 and 3 years ago.
To transfer the files I just take out the memorycard although both are suppoting wifi-transfer in-car as they have wifi hotspot.
Before them I got three some cheap random brand dash cams, that broke down for some errors, can't remember anymore what.

+1 for the Transcend, bought mine after comparing reviews and reports, more than happy with the results. Not had to use it to settle a claim, but have some good footage of low flying Hercules transport aircraft!

Don't bother with dashcams with screens. They are yesterday's news and a lumpy distraction. Go for a wi-fi one that actually sticks to the windscreen, but make sure you position it so the lens is in a wiped area but it is virtually invisible to the driver.
These things have remote buttons to fix a short sequence from a few seconds before the press to a few seconds after, so it doesn't get overwritten on the memory card.
Get a 32GB card for it, not a tiddly one.

I have a Goluk T3 and several others

If you want to, you can remove the microSD card to view files, which are of excellent quality, but I just stream to either my phone or iPad and select ones of importance to download into the device. I seldom find that necessary though. The app is free.
