I do honestly believe that anyone shouting 'Tory scum' should be kicked out of politics forever.

The country has gone backwards if we think shouting abuse at opposition politicians is acceptable. You can disagree with someone but shouting that they are scum is just not on. Politicians should play a straight and fair game and until they do I would be opposed to any pay rises.

Doesn't help when you have the ' official opposition ' shouting tory scum at their conference!
The word 'scum' was an unnecessary embellishment to what she said:

“We cannot get any worse than a bunch of scum, homophobic, racist, misogynistic, absolute vile… banana republic, vile, nasty, Etonian… piece of scum.”

It's obvious that her crime was to use the word twice.

The news today is that there are in excess of 9,000 (yes, nine thousand ) on the watch list of radicals that have the potential to do us harm. Yet we allow them to wander around our country unhindered. They should all be tagged now and many need deporting from whence they came before thay can do any further harm to an already fragile democracy.

Starmer had no option when you look at some of his party.
What is far more troubling is she is realistically talked about as his replacement , which surely must be coming soon.
No wonder Boris is smiling!
Criticism of modern politicians usually results in the current lack of true statesmen/women. This is a very vague term but I think most on here have similar views in this respect and would agree it encompasses a range of desirable qualities. How does Angela Rayner measure up?

Angela Rayner main problem is that is not very intelligent and that is being kind to the woman .

It would appear that she is a trade union promotion. Is this a good method to promote parliamentary superior quality? The Labour party has been dogged by this type of criticism for years and still cannot throw off the stigma, nor is it ever likely to. We need a plausible opposition without the old baggage.

There are plenty of excellent Labour mps who came from a trade union background . But Angela is not one of them ...she is the result of all women short lists , a promotion to try a reflect society ( and all its flaws ) rather than to select the best person for the job .

Angela was a single parent at 16 , grandmother at 37 . No qualifications from school apart from a nvq in social care . Never stood for election in any in any local council , but was selected to be a mp at 35 for a safe Labour seat ( although her majority is shrinking rapidly ) .. why any one though she had the abilities to be an MP I have no idea .

You only have to watch the following interview to see my point

So, because she come from a poor background, doesn't have any qualifications and a single parent, that makes her thick. Whereas Boris, with his paid for qualifications and various spawn littering the country makes him intelligent?

Try adding a few other parameters and, though neither ticks all of the boxes, she is clearly not statesperson material.. You cannot polish a turd as they say.

It is a great pity that you have to blame the consideration of women on the disaster which has arisen. You are almost suggesting that if you promote women you have to accept slags.
