Sorry - painfully slow reply. I no longer run the farm (gave up tenancy) but still rent some shed space while I sort out all the equipment. Inevitably there's always other things to do so tinkering with the tractors etc. keeps getting sidelined.

Thanks again everyone - I have tried disconnecting the ram but there is still nothing happening. Should it lift using just the offside ram with the nearside one disconnected? Apologies for my ignorance on such things.

This is with no implement / bucket on the front to make it as light as possible.

Should I try replacing the couplings? Or does it not working even with the suspicious ram disconnected rule that out?
Sorry to hear you've given up the farm

There could be one or two issues. Do not try lifting using only one ram you will twist something.
firstly have you tried pressurising the errant ram. If it will not come out there is oil the wrong side , quite possibly the seal on the piston is shot.
second the plumbing, on some loaders the oil feeds to rthe base of ram A . This then has oil in the other side which feeds ram B as A is extended, so there is a pipe on the end of A Which feeds to the base of B. Then if there is plumbing to the end of B this is powered to return the loader down This is when thre plumbing is in series
Do you follow?
Alternately the piping may be in parallel with both rams fed from the base to go up ands possibly a second pipe feeding both ends to go down or more likely on a small loader just a breather. If you have a breather it is worth taking out just to check it is not blocked and there is oil behind it

You've got a quick release coupling on the offending ram, remove it completely and swap it with one from the tilt ram, now either the tilt ram won't work and the loader will lift, if it doesn't make a difference then you've got a problem with the new seals not being fitted correctly.
