Hi,
I am inquiring about fore and aft play on the front axle trunnion pin. From what I can ascertain there are fore and aft phosphor bronze bushes similar to king pins but there appear to be no thrust washers. Sitting stationary and gently turning steering 10-15 degrees left and right of centre the axle assembly entire moves fore and aft along the trunnion stopping with an audible clonk. The free play, although not measured would be about 40 thou. There is no play anywhere else on the axle/steering components. Were thrusts fitted? If not I guess it's a case of machine my own. Any knowledge greatly appreciated.
