Curved top wasnt long enough anyway, ive had to add another 4" to it to get it to the height of the original

Wonder if it will last as long as the previous one, 26 years isnt a bad run tbh
If it's a genuine part it will. Mines still original, 11k hours, still fine despite some muppet catching it on potato harvester cart elevator a few years ago. Might replace mine, as I'm fed up looking at a bent stack.
What was the price difference between the Ford & DB exhaust, if you don't mind me asking?

Sparex version of DB exhaust, looks nothing like the original, made of chinese tin foil....£98

Ford version, not sure where my supplier got it from, but seems well build, folded flanges as per original...£53

What you mention is the reason i hate exhausts with bent ends, they get hooked into trees and anything else whats at cab level, which when your hedgetrimming, does often happen. The straight up facing pipe does tend to slide round branches better

Is it just me ?
Or is Sparex stuff generally poor?
I got a new Sparex fuel cap for the 6640 a simple enough item ,you'd need hands like a bloody gorilla to put the thing on or take it off:mad:

this is what sparex recommend for a 15....its basically their version of the ford silencer box with different ends

it looks cheap and tinny

Vap's list thier 15/16 exhausts as being white in colour....

Yes if you can find the parts, you can stack another on top, although it was a very tight fit under that cab.
No doubt many other ways using electrics and solenoids, sometimes depends how much you want to spend.

Haven't been near one for fifteen years now, it's the kind of thing I could work out and do but can't explain how to.

Oh bugger, the flail I'm after need two double acting spools! Is there a way around this?

I plumbed in two, two way valves into one spool valve on our 1690, this gives me three spools controlled with one lever, and a switch to turn solenoids on and off as required.

Not as convenient as three levers, but better than taps for regular use.

Perhaps taps would do you, for what you want?

The bloke from Weavings (Simon) reckons he can sort out a solution wants me to send him some photos of the existing spools in the morning, but I am in the dark here as I've never used hydraulic equipment on a tractor!
But I'm assuming that the DB will have the pressure to operate whatever system I fit?

Tell us what your DA rams do, I assume that one will lift and lower, the other to slew?

If so, a way around it is to either do what I have done, or, plumb the spool valves trough a pair of DA valves, they can be brought in slices, bolted together, this could then stay with the tractor, or with the flail mower, whichever really...

Double acting rams

Hydraulc rams that are powered open and shut, they have two hoses coming from them

Single acting rams power only one way, and rely on gravity, or another force to move the other way (Think bottle jack).

SA Rams only have one hose, like a tipping trailer...

I would assume they are.

Even if they are not, it's not a big problem to be honest.

There is a relatively easy way around it, if you are stuck after the chap from Weaving has talked to you, I'm sure the TFF Collective will be able to help you...

Looks a chunky topper for a 996, what are you going to be cutting with it?

Rough pasture/marsh grass about 30 acres worth, its a mixture of small meadows and trees I had been using a rhino topper but due to circumstances it has got out of control these last 18 months and I just fancy something that can get into the awkward bits without the usual backing and filling that the topper requires.
Also lot of low growing willow encroaching from my neighbour will, hopefully, be getting chipped.
