DB contest to win an Aston Martin.

Just found this while cleaning out the office. It must have been 1987/8 . We had just lost dad and I was in the process of buying our DB1394. We didn't win the Aston! :)

At the time we were SCATS customers in Hampshire, but now I get my bits from Bredys/GCS as they are now, in Dorset. They told me that one of their customers from N Dorset or Somerset was the winner and that there is a photo in the office of the customer receiving the keys. I see the Aston is still taxed , as it would be. If it belongs to anyone on here, Corrr! I'm really jealous!
ps when I bought the Stockman Special to replace the 1394, I think they offered a 1972 Skoda 100L in mustard, but thankfully I didn't win it.:D

I can tell you now the winner of the car sold it very shortly afterwards and used the proceeds to build the bungalow he still lives in, how about that. I spoke to the owner a few years ago....

I bet he wishes he had kept the car, what would that be worth today ? :)

Maybe, but if he had the car, he may not have had the house he's lived in since 1989....what value do you put on that! You can't live in a car.

.................you can sleep in a car but you can't drive a house ;)

the car would be worth many times that of most houses today

I wonder what the long term investment value will be like in the light of the electric car thread. These super cars might look like dinosaurs in 20 years. Still be good for a thrash round Thruxton, but if public opinion (or jealousy) went against them, they might become non-PC.

With everyone having to drive electric, petrol will become cheap as chips ;)
Rape seed oil is the best for bio diesel and RME fuel .
Its is just the newer engines and management and egr etc.tier 3 ,4 5 what ever and the pig pee urea adblue to lower emmissions that knackered that .
Grow your own crop - fry your chips then turn back to bio diesel to plough the field for the next crop - simple and all eco friendly veg oil .
Bring back the older engines .
China and India have plenty .
Do you think their'll ever go electric -doubt it -not in a 100 years ?
