The lift latches do sieze, and it is important not to be too heavy handed with them as they easily break..
when the selectamatic lever is in TCU, the lift will raise when the main lever is both fully back and fully forward.
the selectamatic lever is another part which is frequently broken by improper use

I've managed to release the lift latch and the linkage now drops under it's own weight in L1, if i select L it raises all the way up and nothing I do with the selectamatic handle does a thing in L1, L,1 or 2 it just wants to lift until I put the 3 way valve back into L1 and then it just lowers on it's own. Does this mean I've more than likely got a problem at the selectamatic handle part of the system.

I still think there's something wrong with your 3 way valve.

The linkage should lower in L or L1

You previously had a leak at the tipping pipe, which was cured with a new fitting, but there should only be pressure in the tipping pipe when the 3 way valve is in position 2.

If the loader is plumbed into port 1 of the 3 way valve, as is normal, the loader should only work when the 3 way valve is in L1 or 1. If I remember correctly you said that the loader works in every position of the 3 way valve.

Just found this behind the lowering control knob under the right hand door, looks like I might have found the problem, I've just got to find something to replace the missing parts. I've also tried to manually push the rod to see if the links would lower but oil came out of the side circled on the picture. It just seems like a plain hole, no thread for a bolt?

How do I identify which port is which on the 3 way valve, I have the service manual but this just shows an exploded view and not the port numbers
Port 1 is the top port
When you're looking under the cab at the ports on the valve, position 1 is the lever fully to the right, then working left, towards the gearbox you've got position 2, then L and finally L/1.

Here's a picture from the online parts catalogue of what should be in there

Looks like from the picture all I'm missing is a nut and some small washers but I'm still baffled as to what comes out the side shown with the cable tie I threaded through just for illustrative purposes

Are you missing pin 37, collar 40 and the lock nut also 40? The lock nut is 5/16 unc.

Anyone know where I can get the washer highlighted I think it's got a central hole for the ball bearing and 3 hole surrounding it. It would be a shame to have to buy a full valve just for this
