It's been a tough year to try new things, I'm not going to read too much into results from this year.
It has been a tough year for things like that. I really wanted to try and put some rape into a field of grass straight after silage but it was too dry :(
I'm quite excited by the idea of pasture cropping it would be really useful and cheap easyway of getting a crop of forage or something in without losing any grazing for part of the year and having to reseed it again too. A crop of oats or triticale growing above the grass for whole crop or even combining and the grass grazed or cut straight after. Or a field of kale or rape growing above some foggage for outwintering cattle or even ewes on. Couldn't get much cheaper feed than that for them
Just need to figure out how to get it to work :banghead:

it's a real shame you couldn't have got a combine in to cut that Hendrebc it doesn't look a bad crop. If you big bale it just watch out for the rats.
It is a shame but there we go I don't have anywhere decent to store the grain either-or a way of doing something with it if it is too wet and goes hot. Last time I had stuff sprouting in the bin and had to use buckets and bags to bag all 50 tonnes of it out :cry::cry:
I've not stacked the bales the bales this year I've left them in one layer with enough room for the dogs to run between them so hopefully the rats will stay away from them. The bales have been ruined every other year so I'm not holding my breath but it's worth a try seeing as I had room to put them like that

Do you have any mills in the area? Most here will do a grain + x amout of money for meal deal. Collect when you like
There was one in Denbigh but I'm not sure what they do there now. Might be one in wrexham area but it would be a hell of a trek with a tractor and trailer. I'll just grow more forage crops and not bother with any cereals after my glastir agreement runs out next year it will save a lot of hastle

2Agriculture, they do poultry feed, all my grain goes there. I've never had an issue with them, but they do have a reputation for being fussy on the intake.
I haven't heard of them but being poultry I wouldn't have. Good to know but if they are fussy on what they will take I bet what a cowboy who doesn't have a clue about arable can grow isn't going to have much hope of getting any in :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
I'll remember the name though just in case thanks (y)
