Dead wild animal - what next if anything?

If a fox or any other wild animal dies of natural causes on your land....is there anything to say whether you have a legal obligation to do or not to do anything?

Are there any circumstances where this is different?

I would guess you would have to follow a trail of responsibility.
In the unusual circumstance that someone made a complaint, first responsibility would be to the animals owner or carer.
If there was no owner/ carer then the landowner would only be responsible if the dead body was causing a specific environmental issue such as decomposing near a water source/course. You would then be responsible for the water so by default, need to deal with the dead animal.

The whole area would be far too grey to result in any kind of conviction.
