You will have a far more productive day than the rest of us sitting around waiting for the happy couple to turn up!
Yep, you're right, just come in thinking 'What's the news, what's happened?!' and it's... absolutely nothing. :ROFLMAO:

The truly pitiful thing is... if I didn't have to be out and about, I would be glued to the laptop too... :banghead:

In a perfect world Farage will be busy masterminding Trump’s 2024 re-election campaign, so we won’t have to listen to the gobshite over here.:)

JRM will be licking his wounds after betting on Sterling tanking at the news of no-deal, and seeing it lift when news of a damp squib deal is announced...
He will have known that a deal would be done

Would it be considered insider trading, if a member of parliament used his knowledge of what is going to happen, before the general know, to bet on Sterling?????????????

So @neilo , how do you feel at no tarrifs = got to be good, on lamb but
Complete compliance with all the rules and regs , re farming but no seat at the table making those rules.?
Any divergence and tariffs will apply.

The country (narrowly) voted out, so we had to go with that. Compared to the alternative, a free trade agreement is a better option for the UK, and the EU, even with the threat of future tariffs.
I honestly don’t think our rules and regs are going to diverge much anyway, so it won’t be an issue. There will be no bonfire of red tape, and I very much doubt the UK government will subsidise industry any more (if as much) than Brussels will.

I am still of the opinion that we (personally) probably made a mistake in not following you guys over the water in 2012, but we are where we are. My sources tell me that the UK will prosper mightily outwith the EU.👍

So, how do leavers feel about the deal? I've been out all day so only just heard. It seems promising from what I have heard with the key points checked off. Has Boris sold us out on anything?

Fishing? A 25% reduction in EU access, phased in over 5 years, as opposed to the 80% reduction HMG originally proposed.

One of the biggest risks (and I've seen it at first hand with DEFRA's current "consultation" on livestock transport and in the truly disgustingly opaque Gov quango FAnGR @topground ) is our own team of Civil Servants will continue to gold plate and adhere to EU regs

You sound very sore get over it. This is a good deal for UK agriculture
Au contraire!
This is a fair deal! Very fair
For what it is.
Better than I could have hoped for from this side of la manche.
But its a Skinny Canada, you can't deny that. But again , that will make a lot of people IF they wanted a hard Brexit.
And this is a Hard Brexit.
Bon Chance and Happy Christmas

Farage on Sky now saying parliament should vote for the deal in principle now but return in the New year to study the detail - and he's not even a Parliamentarian

Compare this with Barnier briefing every EU state representative tomorrow (Christmas Day)

I haven't read the detail but I gather that after the 5 year transition then there is no EU access unless paid for. If that is the case and it may not be, it makes sense as it gives us the chance to rebuild our fleets and processing and the other side time to transition into a new reality. Seems fair to me. I as talking to my Dad yesterday and he said anyone sensible would just meet in the middle and go for 5 years. What happens after the 5 years? Difficult to find detail yet.
