Dealer changes again the north or england & south of Scotland

Here is the press release :

AGCO Announces Further Brand Re-alignment

Effective 1st October 2020, AGCO has agreed changes with existing dealer partners in N England and S. Scotland on the distribution of the Fendt and Massey Ferguson brands. These changes, which will be fully implemented by 1st April 2021, support AGCO’s long-term strategy driving brand exclusivity, full-line responsibility, and appropriate brand bundling to support the growth of each brand.

Under these changes, Carrs Billington Ltd becomes an exclusive Massey Ferguson dealer, and will focus their extensive organisation across an extended territory in SW and SE Scotland. Carrs Billington Ltd will continue to operate from established Massey Ferguson outlets in Annan, Carlisle, Penrith, Morpeth, Hexham and Barnard Castle, and anticipate another location will open in SW Scotland to support a strengthening of the overall Carrs Billington Ltd business in this extended area.

The distribution of Fendt products will be via three existing AGCO dealers. Johnston Tractors Ltd will add the Fendt franchise to the Valtra franchise already held in Carlisle, Penrith and Dumfries, while Brockhills of Yorkshire Ltd will extend their existing Fendt responsibilities further north, serviced from their depot in Thirsk. Ancroft Tractors Ltd will also extend their Fendt territory south from the Berwick-upon-Tweed and Kelso depots to complete the full coverage of the brand across the area, while also continuing their long-established representation of Massey Ferguson.

“These new distribution arrangements are the latest changes that will strengthen brand dedication and continue to deliver market share growth for each of our brands” outlines Mark Casement, Director Distribution Management for AGCO. “We have a clear strategic direction that places an emphasis on maximising brand exclusivity while always improving dealer viability, and we are pleased to make these changes while offering all our valued partners the opportunity to grow their business with us in the years ahead. We are confident that this focus will continue to develop the excellent customer-centred support that customers across the area enjoy and expect from our dedicated dealer partners.”

makes no sense as brocks keep mf aswell as fendt?

i would never consider buying off carrs, just see them as an agri merchant not really a dealer as such?

just sounds like a load of shite

My thinking to the separation of the Fendt franchise from the MF dealers is because there is a conflict of the machinery, foragers and combines with the different prices for the same products in different badges and if you look at the Carr’s group with krone machinery and foragers Vs. Fendt it’s a no brainer for Agco to give it to Johnston’s as they have no forage or combines to sell since losing John Deere.

Ive been rather busy of Late
Yes according to Ancrofts Rep today they tech cant sell me New tractors anymore
its a load of Tosh as i could buy one from CARRS before so whats the difference?
Makers cant force your hand thats illegal.
The almighty Green/Yellow folks pushing dealers for sales there never going to achieve
I feel for the dealers & then us the customer as your never going to get the same service from a Dealers Base some 70-100miles away than on your doorstep.
There is more too some of the story that whats being put out in the media but its not for me too say it.
After all it could be just Pub Gossip who knows...

Lets see how much the Makers are squeeling when all our subs hit a 50% reduction in 4 years time.

In all honesty Fendt & Massey should have never been sold from the same dealers end of.
The trouble has been bubbling away behind closed doors for years.
Ive not once considered a Fendt & yes they might be made a little better & have this n that blah blah blah
I just dont get them atall. I dont buy Tractors too trade 4 or 5 years later so the resale value is of no bonus too me
By the time ive sold them there value is plenty low enough to make naff all difference.
If you do lots of hours & then need to change them at 3-5yr old then i get that.
