Not many JDs left on farms round here. We are predominantly small livestock farms though.

If you go up into Turriff, Banffshire, Morayshire where the big deal farmers are there are still plenty.

Netherton are I'm sure doing a good job of looking after existing JD customers.
Big deal Farmers! John Deere are losing out on price mostly there way over Fendt these days

Cant for the life of me think KLH or there new name will sell any more masseys than Ancrofts did.
we all know the Fendt is selling far more than massey is & who's fault is that....
Massey think there a premium brand & want top money also.
Folks are sick & are switching to other brands thats my views.
Iam sticking with Massey but for me it wont matter as iam not in the rep tractor market for quite some time.
Such a shame the business ive delt with for 30years wont get massey parts anymore, (after march 2022) now i have to run much further for them.
They won't sell any more, they might balance things where Ancroft have a range of fendt equipment and Scott agri have a range of Massey.

what a load of rubbish
Actually not rubbish , he also said that in the German market valtra had overtaken Massey for the first time ever , he was delighted with that result , he said that they were having too many issues with Massey tractors giving trouble and the French won’t listen, he was blaming the French for the issues , Agco is a world wide brand but when one country won’t work for the good of the company then it will get the boot. And that’s what is happening . Agco want Fendt and Valtra and Massey can run off with themselves.

It could actually be good for mf if they werent involved with agco who will in certain aspects will be holdin them back if they are wantin them to be thier cheaper line and push the quality to fendt and valtra.

If agco was to drop MF, it would probably be the end of their engine supply, unless there was an agreement in place for future supply. Unless the purchaser of the brand had their own engine , there wouldn't be many other options left! Maybe they could go back to Perkins , but they seem like an entirely different engine these days since caterpillar's involvement

Strategically , Valtra distribution being aligned with FENDT distribution works as there is significant product differentiation. Valtra with MF clearly happens but I can only imagine it would be a hard sell as some models are so close technically - Global platform models as an example and it would be a bit of a dog fight with the market share aspirations.

Apologies.....of course a top man from AGCO is definitely going to discuss global and sensitive information with a contractor and knife sharpener from Ireland...think you need to up your medication James?
He was just the European sales manager , we had a good discussion about the complete tractor market and what he told me is what is now happening on the ground. Basically he did not like the Massey tractor brand due to too many issues just like the issues that Speedstar had with his.

I think JD are loosing market share over the whole country to be honest due to the cost of the stuff and questionable residual values that they think mirror Fendt but in reality don't come close. Certainly around here farms that have green blood and have done for years are either buying used JD's or changing colour with Valtra and Case being the replacements. None of them are unhappy with JD products but they all can't justify the price tags. Its just to expensive. We priced one up 12 months ago and it was £25,000 more expensive than a Case and NH but I don't see where the extra £25,000 is for the same hp and same specification.

Not losing it around here, certainly very popular amongst the contractors

Your correct on the pricing , I know a farmer who bought a new valtra t234 for the same money as a used Jd 6210r with 4000 hrs on it. Jd are pricing themselves out of the market.

This business strategi Agco now are doing are what they calling "Route 66" (Massey in on channel and Fendt/Valtra in a other)
They first country they do it in was Sweden and I belive it was Germany and it start 2015/2016. And after that they shall do the same world wide, and if i understand it was happen in UK now.

So this that Agco gone sell MF i think not gone happen in a long time.

I read some one wrote Valtra sold more then MF in Germany and "Agco man" say it was fantastic. I can not think they are very happy with the sell of MF our Valtra in Germany. In 2020 MF be number 7 (4,9%) and Valtra 8 (4,6%) and this i registered tractor from 51hp and up.

We have run both MF and Valtra for the past 14 years.
The Valtra’s have cost much more in repairs than the MF’s in that time. Particularly so in the past 5-6 years.
Current one winched onto a lorry earlier this week and now in dealers workshop awaiting new hydraulic pump at 1500 hours.
7718 of same age and 2500 hours has only needed an o’ring in a spool valve.

Just my experience of running them of course. Just as you and speedster have your own.
