Thank you. Maybe worth asking the question. She’s had one ‘build up’drink today. I think time is short

A hand on your shoulder*, @Friesianfan . It's a difficult process to observe, I know, but where there's life, there's hope.

Hot weather can curb appetite, but those build up shakes are good nutrition. Tumbler of water for sipping as well. You're doing a good job.

*there doesn't seem to be an emoji for that in the list.

Thanks @Juggler and @Kiwi Pete what you have both said has certainly given good for thought. You cannot and must not rely on others to build up your self esteem, that's how you can and do attract toxic people into your life :) I am thankful that I am not the only one who feels this way :)
You definitely aren't alone. I found it a real struggle right the way through my 20's - I realise I struggled to connect with anyone "my own age" - so I decided to experiment and explore a few different social groups and discovered that I seem to get on better with people younger or older than myself, for different reasons!

You eventually find people that you can count on to pull you up, even if they are the most unlikely people, when you meet them....

Its been a while, however I recently "qualified" as a mental health first aider.
In just the same way as physical first aid its not about "being a counsellor" its about taking a bit of time to talk to the person with the problem and pointing them in the right direction.
As part of the training we were given lots of resources, probably the best one is this. https://www.ntw.nhs.uk/home/accessible-information/easy-read/self-help-guides/

Also available as an app on your phone.

Plenty good advice if you are just taking the first steps against whatever demons are holding you back.

Have you any advice on panic attacks or extreme anxiety where your stomack goes into jelly and you start pumping sweat by the gallon

Thank you. We’ve tried. Even just a biscuit she can only manage a bite. The gp just says her appetite will come back as her depression gets better. But it’s not.:(
Although my mum's illness was different to your own this maybe worth a go.
When my mother was ill and no appetite in desperation and after trying all the good foods I just went around and bought a load of crap cheap yogurts and chocolate mouse type deserts those cheap nasty things with foil lids on and that was something which she could manage and actually got to eat a lot of them it seemed to help and got her eating more.

Another thing is to just try something a bit random if you think she would go for it, mum was sick for several days and went for some chips from the chip van yet couldn't manage some plain sponge.
Best wishes to you, Paul

Thank you Paul. Just been given the news she has cancer. Only days left.

My father-in-law was pretty much the best friend I ever had and when he was diagnosed with deep bone cancer and the medics had given up hope of any successful treatment we took him home to our house and we (mum-in-law, wife, and my self) nursed him through his last days. I can't possibly know how you folks are presently feeling but for me I found watching my father-in-laws passing last moments were physically, mentally, and emotionally deeply painful.

I was also with my oldest, hero, brother when he passed away and although he was not conscious I had the opportunity to thank him for all his brotherly kindness over the years.

You will not be alone, for many thoughts and prayers will be with you all at what is a very difficult time.

Bit difficult to advise "remotely" because you need someone sat with you to talk you through it, ask what has triggered it and reassure you. That`s what we learnt on the course, supporting and advising people to get them "back in the room" so to speak.
From the link below "They always pass"

Breathing technique
Focusing
Relaxation
they can all be learnt, used when needed and are very successful but you really need to be taught properly by a trained person. Maybe ask your GP for any recommendations in your area?

My thoughts are with you. Lost my mum 5 yrs ago. Her wish was to be looked after at home by her family which we did brilliantly until just before the end when proper pain relief was required. It was hardest thing We’ve done as a family But I’m so glad we did. Spend as much time with her as possible make memories, talk of things past. Put any issues to bed and tell her you love her. That’s all she’ll really want.
Go well
Chris.

I thought about creating a different account to discuss this but hey, it’s better to be honest and open.
So, a few weeks ago. I hit rock bottom and finally admitted I needed a retune.... I am always the one to tell others to get help etc... so
My local doctors were amazing! After a 20 min appointment I have been prescribed some meds. That night I slept so well ( something I had been struggling with) probably a mental thing! I’m now two weeks into my medication and I’m back to my old self. I’m positive and my anxiety has gone. Nothing really caused my rock bottom issue. Just a mix of things.
So anyone reading this and ignoring the signs ( I did for months ) just do it!
