Does anybody know if there are any counselors/therapists in my area to recommend? Or would it be best seeing a doctor first and then asking/getting referred. I don't rly know how this all works haha

Although my recent mental breakdown (they don't call it that anymore, although that's what it is) may not be a good advert.
I can relate via mental breakdowns tbh. I had a major one 7 years ago. Then several slightly smaller ones over the following years. Thankfully my brains way better than it has been, now. I am truly sorry that you went through that tho, it's never easy. I'm curious.... What do they call it now then?

Apparently it's too much of a blanket term and doesn't mean anything. I'm fine. Just struggling to get going. Also, I have to sit down and have a chat with Mrs teslacoils tonight. She is my solid rock but I have been rubbish for the last six weeks and it's entirety my own fault for evading doing some things which, had I done them, would not now have grown so huge and culminated in the recent disaster.

In times like these one should NOT read A Spot Of Bother by Mark Haddon:

"He felt like a small child after a long, long day. He wanted someone bigger and stronger to carry him to a warm bed where he could fall into a deep sleep and be transported quickly to the beginning of a new morning in which everything would be good and clean and simple again."

Buffy,

Where do you think I learned the habit from? The self same guy! :)

I do remember, over forty years ago, a male psychiatric nurse tried to introduce me to the idea but it just went in one ear and out of the other. I suppose that I just wasn't in a very receptive state back then.

I watched a Ted Talk by Dolph Lundgren earlier this year and what he had to say about his childhood and fear suddenly opened up a door to a realisation that made sense to me and enlightened my understand to a very large part of my life and it's failings. Quite an education, it was!

Another farmer sadly took his life yesterday, reported on twitter by his wife tonight. So, so sad. I do not know them but suspect many do, Steven and Jo Pile, beef farmers. I do not know the circumstances or background, but it's tough out there at present. Please, please, seek support if it's getting to you.

Unfortunately my own uncle.
