@ACEngineering and anyone else. I’ve read up the spec for Hyd oil but it doesn’t say whether it’s 32/46 etc rather wear and additive specs and also surely the torque converter is different to the transmission? Which just has UTTO according to this.

726. Perkins turbo. Ordinary gearbox not power shift.

right forget that list, you want.

Engine oil, 15w40 just about any old spec will do IMO! E2, E5 or E7, nothing higher than E7. Super farm universal would do fine although you want 15w40 thickness really especially as its old and worn in.

Transmission = ATF dexron 2 or 3. either or will be just fine. (4 speed manual and powershift/speedshift)

Drop box or transfer gearbox = EP80-90 gear oil

front and rear axles = LS90 (not morris xep90 that is a light duty limited slip oil you would need morris Terrain LS90)

Wheel hubs = LS90 same as axle casings

Hydraulic oil = HV46

Brake fluid = DOT4

Thanks so much for this. Is this what the manual is trying to say or your experience advocating better replacements?

Thats what i always use on every T2 or T3 sanderson like yours for the past 16 plus years. I dont think that spec list you got is for a 726 model? more like a TX or GX525 maybe?

if you look on the axle serial plate is will say LS90 oil and if you look on the serial plate of the drop box it will say ep80-90.

It’s the 726 instruction manual I was quoting from.

Nice and straight forward. I view it as a sign that machines were built properly in the first place when they don't need unobtanium magic snake oil to keep from self destructing

Oh well, i will still go by what i was taught from an ex sanderson dealer who i used to work for and whats written on the machine serial plates.

Also them carraro axles were used by matbro and they speced LS90 also.

I have put Utto in one once as i took the wrong oil to the job by mistake! thought it was worth a try and if nothing else would flush out the crap that was in there. The limited slip diff was noisy straight away so dropped it out and went back for the right stuff.
