Declaration for non farm assured holdings

Lamb cheque from local MKT came yesterday, as well as the usual blank license for next time there's a "sheep/goat owner/keeper declaration " form for non assured holdings and if you don't complete then your stock will be sold as not compliant for export.

Who's bright idea is this and what's the purpose

Is it the new export declaration, where you sign to certify that your animals have been ‘regularly seen by a vet for the purposes of disease surveillance’? Having that declaration means that a vet certifying export shipments will be able to sign the new (as of mid-January iirc) papers.

Farm assured holdings already certify that they have such visits, as they have to have an annual vet health plan.

See who is in or out of assurance schemes possibly.

Welshpool cheque had the same declaration form in with it when I picked it up this morning.

They'll all have to do it, or not accept bids from exporting abattoirs.

Be different when all allegedly drop Schemes possibly?

Well yes, if there is no Farm Assurance then we will all have to sign the same declaration.
It’s a requirement for exporting meatloaf the EU, nothing to do with FA. The only reasons FA producers don’t need to sign it is that they already have regular vet visits as part of being a member, so the declaration is covered by default.

I haven’t seen a definition anywhere, but seeing as your vet isn’t allowed to let you have antibiotics unless your animals are ‘under his care’, I would suggest that covers it.👍
Of course, if you’re orgasmic and claim that you never have to treat animals, then you may have an issue.
Do certified organic farmers need to have annual vet plans anyway though? I’d surprised if that wasn’t the case.
